Main duties of the job

This role will support the Internal Communications and Engagement team to deliver first-class internal communications to a diverse body of staff across the hospital so that they are kept informed, engaged, connected and involved in the aims and work of the hospital.

The Senior Internal Communications Officer will lead on campaigns and projects that support the delivery of our People Strategy, so that our people feel valued and supported to be their best selves at work.

This role leads on communications for our Speak Up programme, Big Conversation listening and engagement event series, and staff reward and recognition. Working closely with the Head of Internal Communications and Engagement, this role supports communications and engagement with our ambitious patient safety transformation programme and works closely with our Patient Engagement team on patient family communications.

The role is responsible for managing our key internal communications channels: staff intranet; mailing and survey platforms; and SnapComms (message alert) system.

Communicating in a timely, appropriate, and accessible way is paramount to ensure our messages land well with our staff and patient families.

The post holder will be responsible for designing and delivering campaigns and projects as well as monitoring progress and evaluating success.

They will need good stakeholder management skills to work closely with colleagues and external suppliers.
