Bio-Ethics Administration Manager:
Band 6 (22.5 hours per week)
Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital NHS foundation Trust is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Bio-ethics administration manager. This unique post will enable the holder to work with the award-winning Bioethics team across Great Ormond St and the UCL Institute of Child Health - helping the team provide ethical support to the Trust, its staff and Scientists treating children with rare and complex diseases, and other institutions.
This position will be situated within the Medical Directors Office responsible to the Director of Bioethics and excitingly based in the new ZCR Rare disease centre.

Proficiency in medical minute taking, arranging meetings and excellent communication skills required.

Main duties of the job
- Directly impact on improving healthcare for children and young people, and the provision of support to their parents and families, both in Great Ormond St Children's Hospital, and elsewhere.
- Work with leading paediatric clinicians at one of the World`s leading children's hospitals.
- Use your skills to support and manage a diverse group of experts dealing with challenging bioethical questions and the team's ongoing national and international collaborations with other renowned paediatric centres of excellence
- Help the team support UCL Institute of Child Health researchers by reviewing ground-breaking work in treatments, including helping the Declaration of Interests Committee
- Contribute to the day to day running of the bioethics team through arranging and recording (minuting) ethics case reviews and contributing to both monthly meetings and educational events as well as maintaining portions of the bio-ethics budget.
- Depending on your background/interests there is the opportunity to collaborate in future research projects and be part of collaborative projects with other international centres
- Help organise and participate in the team's educational work - including bioethics sessions for bedside staff, organising conference days and organising the Bioethics and Law MSc module, PhD and intercalated BSc supervision arrangements
