Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Radiographer/NMT to join the Nuclear Medicine team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. This post is for a candidate with Nuclear Medicine experience with an interest in Paediatrics. The Nuclear Medicine department provides diagnostic imaging for patients from 0- 18yrs old with a variety of conditions. The procedures you will be involved in include renal, lung, gastric, neuro and oncology examinations. The department currently has 3 gamma cameras including an Intevo SPECT CT. The department will also be expanding into the new GOSH children's cancer center including installing state of the art PET/CT.
The post holder will be joining an existing team of Radiographers including the Superintendent Technologist, Band 7 Static Nuclear Medicine Radiographers/MTO and Band 6 Rotational Radiographers. It would be expected that the post holder would be employed on a 9-5 Monday to Friday shift. You will be working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team in providing this service. Good communication skills and excellent team working abilities are essential for this post. Main duties of the job
- To undertake specialist Nuclear Medicine duties in the dedicated imaging suite in a paediatric tertiary referral centre.
- Working in conjunction with the Superintendent, the post holder will support with the daily organisation of the imaging services, ensuring the delivery of a professional, high quality, effective and flexible service always that is responsive to the needs of the patients and the clinicians. They will also support the Superintendent in the management and running of the Department, including delegated tasks and responsibilities
- The post holder will work closely with the Consultant Radiologists, to review, revise and implement scanning techniques and protocols.
