Job summary
Reporting directly to the Head of Education (Academic) the Academic Course Director will lead the academic education team across all workstreams to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the academic component of the GOSH Learning Academy (GLA).and workas a senior member of the Clinical and Professional Education (CPE) Team providing pan -Trust education expertise and leadership.
The successful candidate will act as an expert education practitioner and resource within Clinical and Professional Education and throughout the Trust pursuing excellence in research -informed teaching whilst inspiring and enabling others to do the same.
The post holder will provide leadership for the academic education team ensuring the academic work meets both internal and external standard setting in terms of development, delivery, and quality review, acting as a key link between the operational education teams, central education teams and the validating Higher Educational Institute.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide oversight and act as operational lead for academic education providing role modelling, professional support and leadership for module leads, students and staff across Great Ormond Street leading on the development and delivery of the academic portfolio within the GLA
The successful candidate will be responsible for quality assurance and effectiveness across the academic portfolio and will provide line management within the Clinical and Professional Education team.
Working with Heads of Education the successful candidate will ensure performance management and governance of Clinical and Professional Education ensuring arrangements in place to meet all national and local KPI. Ensuring equality of access to education across GOSH by working with module leads and education teams across the Trust and allocating education provision according to clinical need
