TRUST FELLOW IN PAEDIATRIC UROLOGY (Equivalent ST 7+)

2 Fellowships on a 6 Months Fixed-Term Contract, extendable to 36 months, dependent on satisfactory progress - Great Ormond Street Hospital/University College Hospital) to commence 5th October 2022 (1 post) and 4th October 2023 (1 post).
Applications are invited for the Paediatric Urology Fellowships in Paediatric Urology based at Great Ormond Street Hospital and University College London Hospitals for 6 to up to 36 months, dependant on satisfactory progress.
The Departments of Paediatric Urology at Great Ormond Street Hospital and University College London Hospitals function as a virtual single unit across the two sites and this post offers an opportunity to experience the full breadth of Paediatric Urology. There is an active academic programme.
The post is at middle grade level and training will be offered alongside two London Deanery Trainees and six Paediatric Urology Fellows. The post holders are expected to contribute to the Paediatric Urology Specialist Trainee on call rota which operates across both sites.
The Fellowship post is most suitable for candidates who wish to build on previous experience in paediatric urology or adult urology by spending this time in a busy clinical and academic department certified by the JCPU towards a FEAPU.

The post provides wide experience in the management of children, including neonates, who need specialist paediatric urological treatment.

Weekly Timetable
The Specialist Registrar/Fellow is responsible for the management of Urological patients. The Specialist Registrar/Fellow is required to lead a ward round each morning and evening. The Specialist Registrar/Fellow will also be required to undertake a number of administrative duties such as preparing discharge letters and dealing with cancelled admissions and/or cancelled clinics.
There are 7 Consultant operating lists per week at Great Ormond Street. The operating list commences at 0830 and finishes at around 1730.
There are eight clinics a week: 8 GOSH Consultant outpatient clinics, 1 Posterior Urethral Valves clinic and 1 Urodynamics clinic with Mr Desai. Specialist clinics for Paediatric Urolithiasis, Neuropathic and Cloacal anomaly, genito-urinary rhabdomyosarcoma run on a monthly basis.
