Job summary
The ICT Business Analyst (BA) will analyse business processes across a range of clinical and non-clinical services, documenting the resulting business and ICT workflows and, where appropriate, drawing upon this documentation to support the development of business cases for technology-enabled change.
The BA will work with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to engage, elicit, define, document, communicate and validate functional and non-functional processes and requirements. This is a 'full-lifecycle' role, with possible involvement in business case development, procurement, design, development, testing and implementation.
The BA will typically work on a number of assignments simultaneously; assignments will vary in scale and complexity, with the duration ranging from a few days to several months.

- Masters Level Degree or equivalent (i.e. 3 years' experience in a similar IT role)
- Possess a recognised Business Analysis professional qualification (such as BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis) or have equivalent experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and an ability to work positively with stakeholders from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines.
- Highly articulate (oral and written), with a particular ability to express technical ideas to a non-technical audience.
- Self-motivated with an ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team
- Proven ability to integrate with teams and build relationships with stakeholders
- Experience of working with modelling and analysis tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect), methods and standards (e.g. UML, BPMN).
- In-depth knowledge of business modelling techniques and experience in obtaining input from, and communicating, modelling results to stakeholders for approval/agreement.
- Expertise with the application of Business Analysis techniques, methods and tools; experience of the implementation of Business Analysis techniques, methods and tools as well as the enhancement of their application.
- Experience of process analysis, assessment and change including financial, cultural, technological, organisational and environmental factors. Further experience of establishing stakeholder requirements and identifying how these map to process requirements.
- Proven experience and ability to negotiate successfully with others to gain mutually beneficial results by presenting interests in ways that foster understanding and resolution of problems.
- Proven ability to seek to understand others' interests yet question and counter others' proposals without damaging relationships. Strong experience of using various approaches to address needs or resolve issues whilst balancing win/win solutions or mutually agreeable trade-offs.
- Experience of developing specifications of functional and non-functional requirements
- Understanding of project delivery and change management processes, preferably using the PRINCE2 project management methodology. Appreciation of how the business analysis process supports project delivery.
