Senior Mental Health Practitioner – Enhanced Care Referral Team

Job summary
On the back of a successful pilot project, an exciting opportunity has arisen to substantively recruit to the senior mental health practitioner posts within the Enhanced Care Referral Team.
Providing strong clinical and team working the post holders will be instrumental in the continued development of the service across the East Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative footprint. The role involves working with children, young people and carers, CAMHS professionals and other stake holders involved in the young person's care as part of a multi professional assessment team.
The focus of this role is the provision of a high-quality service incorporating the management of inpatient referrals, undertaking referral appraisals, completing face to face access assessments, working collaboratively to reduce the need for admission, producing high quality assessment reports, working collaboratively where admission is necessary, and providing support with bed management. An essential part of the role also incorporates offering consultation to community CAMHS colleagues and training to both inpatient and outpatient colleagues.
The ECRT is a small highly functional team operating on a reflective team approach to decision making, formulation and service delivery.
Main duties of the job

Clinical and Professional
- Liaise with the SPOR coordinator to ensure that all inpatient referrals are appraised in a timely manner in accordance with the NHS England guidance on a daily basis.
- Check each inpatient referral to ensure that it is completed correctly, and that all information has been included in order for an access assessment to be undertaken.
Staffing / Management
- To ensure that safe and effective pathways are in place to facilitate the movement of CYP through specialised services, including the identification and reporting of deficits within service provision.
- Operate effectively in a flexible and demanding environment and proactively engage stakeholders within the NHS and Independent sector.
Information / Performance
- To participate in regular service reviews, audits and evaluations.
- To evaluate clinical practice and outcomes using appropriate evaluation tools.
