Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse who is a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) within the Adult ADHD, Autism and Tourette's Service.
We are looking for a qualified NMP with competence in the prescribing of ADHD medications in adults, demonstrable skill, enthusiasm, and compassion to work with service users who have a diagnosis of Adult ADHD and who are wishing to be treated with medication. The candidate would work within the NMP pathway and closely alongside the wider multidisciplinary team, ensuring a team approach is taken in the interests of maintaining effective and quality care. You will be a key person to ensure this is delivered by working collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for service users.
You will liaise closely with primary care partners in delivering Shared Care arrangements and be available and responsive to patient /carer led queries. You also will engage in both clinical / management and NMP specific supervision.
You will be experienced at assessing and managing the physical health elements related to ADHD prescribing and be comfortable with seeking advice and guidance from senior members of the team if required.
Main duties of the job
As a valued member of the team, you will be able to provide clinical knowledge and guidance to others and support clinical service improvements.
You will someone who can make a significant contribution to a service users through your clinical ability . You will be able to deliver effective assessment, risk management and evidenced based ADHD psychosocial treatment alongside pharmacological interventions to service users who will have varying levels of complexity.
You will be able to manage your time effectively and will run your own planned NMP clinics and/or caseload. You will ensure service users receive a high quality service and have ability to adapt to manage competing demands.
