Job summary

This Band 8b senior leadership role is based within the Turnaround Team for Secured Services at NHFT, covering Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. The postholder provides strategic, clinical, and professional leadership across secured services, with a strong focus on quality improvement, education, and workforce development. They will implement actions to audit standards, gain assurance and promote quality improvement and innovation.

The post holder will provide senior professional leadership to support the development and implementation of education and development activities / programmes for Nurses and Allied Health Professionals.

Main duties of the job

Main duties and responsibilities:

o Take forward and implement the Trust's Quality Framework across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Prisons to deliver clinically and financially viable services, maintaining a focus on the delivery of high-quality patient care standards

o Take the lead on identified quality and professional corporate projects and programmes of work focused on the delivery of high quality, safe patient care

o Provide leadership, support, and advice to ensure the highest standards of nursing care are adhered to and maintained.

o Support the Professional Advocate Lead (PAs) within Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to oversee recruitment, continuing practice, evaluation of the impact of the role within Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire Prisons.

o To support the Assistant Director, Specialty Services by deputizing for senior roles in their absence and representing them externally as required.

o Ensure that there are systems and processes in place to deliver and monitor safe, effective compassionate and dignified care across the prisons.

o Provide effective clinical and professional leadership which promotes and demonstrates the values and behaviours identified within the Trust.

o Demonstrate effective leadership through clinical credibility and role model leadership behaviours.

o Provide advanced professional nursing knowledge and expertise to support improvement in quality and professional standards across the prisons.

  • The post holder will hold a Professional Qualification, and have an active Registration with a Professional Regulator
  • Demonstrable experience in leading and implementing trust wide policies
