Main duties of the job

Working life

As a Specialist Children's Speech and Language Therapist, you'll

o Independently manage a caseload of complex caseso Use evidence based and child centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intervention.o Provide timely S&LT advice, reports and programmes to be integrated within the child or young person's daily curriculumo Utilise technology to enable you to update records as you go

The service aims to provide an excellent standard of care that supports patients across Northamptonshire. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the service and balance clinical appointments with other responsibilities and allocate significant time for intervention in every role.

Must have skills

You will need to be adaptable and resourceful. You'll need to be well organised, confident and able to cope in diverse situations to deliver patient care. Leadership and management skills are also important, as with all clinical roles, communication skills, problem solving and good judgement are crucial.

You will have an induction period with shadowing and joint sessions, as well as regular peer group supervisions if applicable.
