An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to join the multi professional staff team at the Urgent Care & Assessment Team (UCAT) based at St Mary's Hospital, Kettering.
The Urgent Care and Assessment Team (UCAT) forms part of the extended Community Mental Health Service and responds to the mental health need within our locality. The applicant should be available to work shifts, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and willing to participate as a member of the multi professional team providing assessment and intensive home treatment to service users in the acute phase of a mental illness.
We are seeking a proactive andenthusiastic individual highly skilled in assessment, risk assessment and management, effective decision making and the ability to work under pressure. The successful candidate will be required to contribute to the teams commitment to a recovery based approach promoting social inclusion and collaborative working. In addition to these requirements a passion for forming good working relationships with colleagues as well as other agencies is necessary. The role includes shift coordination, delegation of duties, prioritising and problem solving, mentoring junior staff, supporting the wider MDT and ensuring we maintain high standards of care delivery.
Main duties of the job
Successful candidates will need to have genuine interest in working within a multi-disciplinary team providing assessments and treatment for the defined group of individuals and will have experience of working with people who have mental health difficulties.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and dynamic individual (RMN/RNLD/OT/Social Worker) to join our fast paced MDT providing a 7day a week, 365day a year service, which operates between the hours of 08:15am to 9:30pm providing the following service;
AssessmentsUndertaking holistic biopsychosocial assessments of people in crisis and deciding on a collaborative treatment plan as an alternative to acute inpatient care or signposting to other appropriate community or third sector services.
Home Treatment TeamWorking as part of a close-knit team to deliver high-quality person-centred care in the least restrictive setting. This requires the use of ( as well as being offered training) CBT/DBT skills, de-escalation techniques, managing risks and brief supportive counselling skills, to work towards shared treatment goals with the service user within their social network.
The role requires effective communication and leadership skills, autonomous decision making and dynamic risk assessment skills. We are looking for someone that has experience in working in a team, who has a positive attitude but also able to be proactive and work alone when required. You will be an active member of the MDT working to ensure that the UCAT service is provided to the highest possible standard.
