Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner, Band 4 in Mental Health Support Teams (MHST).

As an Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner, you will be expected to work under supervision as part of a dynamic mental health team in a creative environment where evidence-based interventions, new ideas, ways of working and supporting children and young people are actively encouraged.

This approach requires flexibility and working in educational settings. The team employ a range of evidence-based interventions for common mental health problems via direct individual and group support for children, young people and their parents.

Main duties of the job

As a MHST Assistant EMHP, you will be expected to work under supervision as part of a dynamic mental health team in a creative environment where evidence-based interventions, new ideas, ways of working and supporting children and young people are actively encouraged. This approach requires flexibility and adaptability, and above all a passion for working collaboratively with children and young people in educational settings. The post-holder will, under supervision, develop knowledge and practice Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach skills to employ a range of evidence based interventions for common mental health problems via direct individual and group support for children, young people and their parents, and provide parent led work and support the Whole School Approach by co-facilitating workshops etc.

There will be an expectation and opportunities to work collaboratively with children, young people and their families to support the co-production and development of the service, creating meaningful participation work.

There may be opportunities to apply for future trainee EMHP posts within MHST.
