Job summary
This role will lead the Medical Workforce team of a day to day basis ensuring staff are trained and supported in their daily activities, meet KPIs as standard and continually review administrative processes and procedure to ensure the team provide the best possible service to the Medical and Dental workforce and wider trust. The post holder will also have a specialist interest in recruitment, highlighting the opportunities available for medics and dentists within our trust and being the face of the organization at national recruitment events.
Main duties of the job
Recruitment:
- Act as a "Head hunter" for hard to fill medical and dental posts across the organisation
- To support the Head of Medical Workforce in driving down medical agency spend
- To oversee the co-ordination of Medical and Dental recruitment across the organisation with support from the Medical Workforce Advisors for each directorate in the trust.
Service delivery:
- To oversee the allocation of work flow in relation to recruitment and employment processes ensuring effective prioritisation of workload according to need
- To identify workload fluctuations and design plans to pro-actively smooth out work flow
- Maintain and develop administration practices to maximise efficiency and ensure the provision of a high quality service that meets the needs of internal and external stakeholders.
Pay and expenses:
- To be responsible for approving all medical and dental expenses on the trust eExpenses system
- To ensure that pay queries are responded to quickly and efficiently, escalating to the Head of Medical Workforce where required
- To authorize new starter, leaver and internal change pay requests
Rota compliance:
- To ensure all medical and dental rotas remain compliant at all times, working closely with the Medical Job Planning and Rostering Advisor to identify any concerns and act accordingly
- To work with the Guardian of Safe Working Hours in the creation and submission of the quarterly and annual board reports
- To oversee the Junior Doctor Exception Reporting process
