This job is now closed
Job summary
Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is looking for enthusiastic Assistant Psychologists who are interested in gaining experience in working with children and young people with developmental conditions. The Children and Young People's ADHD and ASD Service (CYPAAS) offers specialised diagnostic assessments and needs-based interventions for children and young people with these conditions.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidates will contribute to the assessment (neuropsychological assessments and observations) and research activities of the CYPAAS working under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist, but will also be encouraged to develop their clinical skills (group and individual work). You will be part of a highly experienced team and we are looking for people with good verbal and written communication skills, as well as good organisational skills. Applicants should possess a good Honours degree in Psychology (1st or high 2:1), preferably have experience of working with children and/or adults with developmental conditions, and previous experience as an Assistant Psychologist would also be an advantage. The post requires a substantial amount of travelling across the county of Northamptonshire and possession of a driving licence and own transport is therefore essential.
Please also note that for some occupations we receive a high amount of applications, and where this is evident, the post will be closed and we will put a limit on the number of applications that we are able to receive. Please answer the following question in the supporting statement box on the application form: What do you think will be important to think about when working with young people with ADHD or ASD? (max 150 words)
