Job summary
Our goal at the Community Brain Injury is to work together with people affected by brain injury to help them build and maintain fulfilling lives. We aim to do this through provision of a high-quality multidisciplinary service with emphasis on a person-centred goal planning approach. Psychology provision within the service is focussed on the assessment and management of difficulties with mood, cognitive functioning and behaviour. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team and, in return, can offer access to varied and interesting work, high quality supervision and experience of working with other professions within the multidisciplinary team.
The role is a permanent post at 37.5 hours per week. The service operates from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of this role is to support and enhance the psychological care of service users within the Community Brain Injury Service. You will provide psychological/ neuropsychological assessment, formulation, and interventions under the regular clinical supervision of a qualified psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed with your supervisor. You will deliver therapeutic groups, contribute to team meetings, assist in clinically related administration, development and conduct of audits and service development project work.
The successful candidate must hold a minimum of an upper second class honours degree in psychology, with entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society. Some previous relevant experience of working with people with psychological difficulties or physical disabilities, preferably in a health or social care setting, is also required. You must demonstrate an understanding of the psychological needs and difficulties of people with brain injury or other disabilities; some experience of working in this area is desirable but not essential. Most importantly, you must show a passion for working in neuropsychology/brain injury rehabilitation and dedication to providing the highest standard of care for our service users.
About us
The Community Brain Injury (CBI) service is a small, friendly team, passionate about working with people affected by brain injury.The team is comprised of Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and a Physiotherapist with support from Rehabilitation Assistants and Assistant Psychologists.
The service is currently provided Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm and is based at Isebrook Hospital, Wellingborough. However, the role will require travel across the county required on a regular basis. Applicants must have a current driving licence and access to use of a vehicle insured for business purposes.
