Job summary

Serenity/ SARC are recruiting for a Quality Manager to join the team and ensure the compliance and maintenance of the services being provided to the community.

Serenity/ SARC provides support, advice, forensic examination services and wrap around care for people who have experienced rape or sexual assault throughout Northamptonshire and Leicestershire.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated, resourceful individual with a desire to ensure that requirements of our Quality Management System are maintained, reviewed, and complies with the FSR standards and ISO 15189.

Main duties of the job

A mandated requirement from the Forensic Science Regulator is that all SARC's should have a Quality Manager, the Quality Manager will carry out the following:

  • To Lead on the Forensic Science Regulator (FSR) UKAS Accreditation for SARC Services to meet ISO 15189:2022
  • To work with SARC Managers to ensure that SARC services are compliant with ISO15189 and the Forensic Regulator's (FSR) Codes of Practice and Conduct and its relevant appendices
  • To establish, document, implement and maintain a Quality Management system (QMS) as part of the accreditation process
  • To lead on the development and writing of policy and standard operating procedures relevant to the FSR codes of practice
  • To work with SARC Managers to maintain a local risk register to identify gaps and mitigation

To develop and implement a competence framework for SARC staff in line with their role and the FSR Codes or Practice and Conduct

To develop and deliver training input to staff in line with the required competencies To develop audit tools to assess competencies and evidence standards compliance

To develop and implement an audit programme to test the QMS once its been implemented, analysing performance data to spot areas for improvement

Thorough knowledge in a dynamic and changing research environment Expert in good clinical practice and wider SARC regulations

The ability to demonstrate lateral vision and see beyond current working practices to identify and develop innovative business practices that may positively impact quality and performance of SARC Services.

To make judgements which involve analysis of complex data, using both quantitative and qualitative information from a range of sources. This will need to be measured against compliance with regulatory guidance, patient, and stakeholder feedback as well as local performance
