Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an End of Life Care Education Facilitator to work within the Northamptonshire End of Life Care Practice Development Team based at Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
The aim of the post is to ensure that Health and Social care staff across Northamptonshire receive high quality, evidence-based education regarding palliative care and end of life care, to enable them to deliver excellent care.
The new education facilitator will be fully supported to develop skills in education, facilitation and project management.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist in the high-quality development and delivery of education and the implementation and sustainability of end of life care best practice tools, polices and guideline; within health and social care. The priorities for education and practice development will be informed by the Northamptonshire All Ages Palliative and End of Life Care Strategy (2023).
The successful applicant will be:
- A Registered Nurse.
- Palliative and end of life care knowledge, skills and experience are essential
- A working knowledge of the end of life care best practice tools eg Advance care planning.
- Previous teaching experience would be an advantage for this post.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A car driver with the use of a car.

- Registered Nurse (Adult)/
- Educated to degree level or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Relevant qualification in Teaching and Assessing in Clinical Practice
- Evidence of recent, relevant post registration learning/development
- Clinical experience and knowledge within palliative and end of life care
- Knowledge and experience of best practice tool
Desirable
- Recognised palliative and/or end of life care related qualification
- Experience of engaging and communicating effectively with people at all levels
- Communication Skills qualification
