Job summary

A rare opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative Physiotherapist to join the Northamptonshire Community Brain Injury (CBI) service . The main focus of the role is to work as a core member of the multidisciplinary team, enhancing the care of service users through provision of a highly specialist physiotherapy service for people with brain injury across Northamptonshire.

Main duties of the job

Highly developed therapeutic skills and a commitment to rehabilitation will be essential to this post, with some experience of working with neurological conditions preferred. You will undertake specialist assessment and interventions dependent on the specific needs of individual service users and their agreed rehabilitation goals; you will work with people who may have very complex needs. You will also act as a source of expertise for the team in relation to physical rehabilitation, contributing to the highest standards of service delivery and ongoing service development. You will be responsible for the development of support staff and provide clinical supervision.

As a community team, the majority of appointments take place in patient's homes or local community settings. Excellent communication skills are therefore essential for this role in order to work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, as well as the ability to work autonomously. Experience of working in community settings would be advantageous.

About us

The team is comprised ofClinical Psychologists and Occupational Therapists with support from Rehabilitation Assistants and Assistant Psychologists. As the sole Physiotherapist in the team you will have the opportunity to shape the provision of physiotherapy for people with brain injury in Northamptonshire.

The service is based at Isebrook Hospital, Wellingborough, but the role will require frequent travel throughout Northamptonshire. Access to use of a car for work is essential.

NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community.
