Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time (30.00 hours per week) B3 administrator within the Musculoskeletal (MSK) triage HUB that sits within the patient contact centre (PCC).
The post holder will be working in an integrated skill mix team that includes Extended Scope Physiotherapists (ESP), core PCC administrators, First Contact Physiotherapy (FCP) administrator(s), PCC manager, service manager of the patient referral services and the service head of diabetic and therapy services. They will work closely with MSK services including GP's, Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, Podiatrists and secondary care services including Orthopaedics, rheumatology and pain clinic consultants and / or medical secretaries. The post holder will need to develop strong links with administrative and clinical colleagues to understand the service and referral needs and work with them on solutions to develop the service.
Main duties of the job
All Musculo-skeletal (MSK) referrals for Northamptonshire will be referred into the hub where they will be triaged with the aim at improving the quality of referrals into secondary care and improving the patient journey so that they are seen by the right person, at the right place at the right time.
Reporting directly to the PCC manager, the MSK triage HUB administrator will be in direct contact with the ESP's supporting the referral management of patients into secondary care, MSK services or signposting to the relevant service. Thus enabling the delivery of an effective and efficient service to patients, service users and clinicians.
The post holder will act as the administrator for managing and facilitating the patient through the referral system. They will offer an efficient, helpful and friendly point of contact to patients, colleagues, hospital staff, GP Practices and the clinical professionals the department supports. Any patients that are subsequently referred onwards from the MSK Triage Hub to secondary care are offered a choice for their care. To feedback on any issues, or actions required to the referrer, Service Manager and / or Head of Service.
