If yes to these questions you may be interested in an opportunity that has arisen for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner in Northampton to deliver Structured Clinical Management in the CMHT.

This is an exciting time to join Mental health Services in NHFT. We are currently undergoing a transformation in the way we deliver Community Mental Health Services which means more localised working and also more psychological interventions. We will be committed to your development and as an SCM worker you will have regular access to supervision both group and individual.

This position is Fixed Term Contract or Secondment to cover maternity leave. Secondment applicants must have authorisation from current line manager before applying for this post.

Main duties of the job

You will work closely with the Community Mental Health (CMHT) teams and the Northants Personality Disorder Hub. You will provide the delivery of Structured Clinical Management (SCM). We have established community SCM treatment programmes within NHFT and full training will be provided.

This post will provide support to CMHT's in the South of the county to enhance the effectiveness of treatment for individuals with a personality disorder. The post holder will be supported to work with individuals and make a significant contribution to the understanding of the diagnosis of personality disorder, support others to further develop therapeutic skills (e.g. in sharing and discussing information about diagnosis, goal setting, analysing crisis behaviour, and identifying and addressing barriers to discharge), and contribute to discharge planning within an SCM treatment programme.

Psychological formulation, reflective practice and an investment in on-going professional development are embedded in our approach and the post holder will also have the opportunity to continue to expand their own knowledge and skills by contributing to the delivery of therapeutic programmes offered by the service.

About us

We are in the process of reforming our current adult community mental health services into smaller multi-disciplinary teams that align with the primary care networks. This will ensure closer working relationships with GP's, other agencies/organisations and service users/carers, providing a more responsive service tailored for the local community. This will also involve building and maintaining positive links with other services within NHFT.

You will be an practitioner working as part of a multi-disciplinary team including healthcare registered professionals, psychologists, medical staff, Peer Support Workers and Wellbeing Navigators to deliver high-quality person-centered care in the community.

You will also have the opportunity to utilise specialist assessment skills, goal setting and care planning and facilitate group Programmes.
