Main duties of the job
As a member of the Corporate Governance Department, the Lead for Members and Governors is responsible for managing the Trust's membership, supporting Governors to undertake their role, and for the smooth running of the Council of Governors.
With specialist knowledge in both corporate governance and communications, the Lead for Members and Governors will design and implement an effective membership strategy to achieve our objectives through close collaboration with Governors, staff and partners.
Utilising knowledge, skills and experience in project/campaign management, the Lead for Members and Governors will lead cross-departmental projects/campaigns, including those within the membership strategy and our routine Governor election campaigns, to achieve the desired results maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, guidance and policies and making the best use of the available resources.
A natural facilitator, the Lead for Members and Governors will design and lead workshops sensitive to the needs of the audience to deliver an optimal outcome. This will include producing high-quality, engaging and focussed materials, including presentation slides, written reports, data analysis and video/audio material.
The Lead for Members and Governors will use their knowledge, skills and experience in corporate governance to ensure the Council of Governors is run effectively and efficiently in line with the Trust's Constitution, Code of Governance and relevant legislation.
