Job summary
Catering Operations Officer
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Catering Operations Officer to join the Hotel Services team. Reporting directly into the Food & Beverage Compliance Officer, the ideal candidate will have experience in a catering environment and can demonstrate good general computer skills as will be using our bespoke IT systems and MS Office within the Catering department. The post involves the support of our Catering teams, ordering Catering supplies and maintaining databases to assist with the daily running of the Catering Department. Travel between sites is a vital part of this role.
The department currently provides a patient meal service to 400 patients in seven hospital sites across Northamptonshire, each with onsite catering service. The department also provides retail caf service for patient's, staff, and visitors in six of the hospital sites.
The position is part time, predominantly working Monday - Thursday from 9:30am - 13:00pm although flexibility for shifts and days worked is vital to meet business demands.
Main duties of the job
- Be familiar with all bespoke IT systems used within the catering department
- Create, update, and maintain databases to assist with the daily functions of the catering department
- Deputise for other departmental colleagues to maintain Hotel Service function in their absence.
- Ensure all databases and documents relating to recipes and labelling of food items are maintained and correct versions available for the catering teams
- Ensure purchased readymade food and in house cooked food is cooked to specific recipes.
- To ensure compliance with all relevant statutory legislation connected with catering services.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the department at all times and that food service records are maintained related to time, temperature & waste as stated in the Food Hygiene Operational Policy Procedure, HACCP & COSHH.
- Network with other team leaders; travel to other sites will be a requirement.
- You will demonstrate an enthusiasm for professional development and will be motivated to further your understanding and skills through various training opportunities.
Car owner/driver and current driving license essential or access to a car as you will be required to travel to multiple locations across the county (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
