Job summary

The post is open to an experienced or newly qualified Clinical Psychologist to develop through preceptorship by joining Children's Specialist Services, specifically our CYP ASD/ADHD Service. We are offering flexible working . We provide specialist MDT Autism and ADHD assessment as well as training, consultation, and some post-diagnostic support. This service is closely linked with other Children's Specialist Services including Community Paediatrics, Paediatric Psychology, Children's Eating Disorder's Service, Looked After Children's Services, CTPLD and CAMHS.

This role will include specialist training and development in gold standard, NICE recommended assessment of Autism and ADHD. There are opportunities to undertake supervision training and supervise others, as well as experience broader leadership and career development. It will be possible to combine this post with other roles or opportunities across Children's Specialist Services to gain wider range of experiences in assessment and intervention in different areas. There are excellent opportunities to connect with other psychologists across the trust through meetings, events, and special interest groups.

Main duties of the job

This is a band 8a or band 7 development opportunity, and funding has been secured for appointed candidates to progress to a band 8a Senior Clinical Psychologist position once agreed clinical and leadership competencies have been met. For newly qualified psychologists, the successful candidate will commence in post at band 7 and then work towards individualised competencies as discussed with the Service Manager and Principal Psychologist CYP ASD/ADHD Clinical Lead. Where a more experienced candidate meets the competencies (described below), they will be appointed directly at band 8a.
