Job summary

An exciting opportunity to undertake the role as Operational Manager for Rural Parks Community Mental Health Team has become available.

This post is 12 months fixed term or 12 months secondment. You will need permission from your line manager to apply for this post as an internal secondment.

Main duties of the job

The Operational Manager (OM) is responsible for the line management of the staff working in their team and has responsibility for utilising a range of systems including Healthroster, ESR, Agresso, SystmOne, Datix, SMART to ensure the achievement of KPIs. Expected results are defined, but the post holder has the autonomy to decide how these are achieved.

The OM will provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information where complex skills are needed for clinical and operational situations. They will be required to undertake investigations including resolving and embedding learning from concerns and complaints through exercising judgement and analysing complex facts and/or situations consisting of several components.

The OM will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating a clinical team to provide quality mental health care to a defined population. This can include leading clinical case discussions within the service and with external agencies. It is essential as the OM to be able to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

As the Community Mental Health Service transforms, the OM will be expected to embrace change and support in shaping the future of the Service.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, both orally and in writing with clarity and precision. They will have proven problem solving, analytical and reflective skills have the ability to function effectively in the face of highly emotional and distressing problems and a strong value base which drives practice and can influence those around them.

Co-production and working in partnership will be core to what you do in your current practice and immediately transferable to your new role. We are looking for an individual who shows compassion and who is engaging and focussed on service user and carer satisfaction.
