Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic 8a Clinical Psychologist to join our CYP Community Eating Disorder Service. The service offers assessment, formulation and treatment to children and young people with eating disorder presentations. The successful applicant will be part of a innovative and passionate multi-disciplinary team who promote a culture of best outcomes for service users. In addition you will be working with an established group of psychologists who engage with the wider psychology services across the trust.

A welcome award of £5000 is offered for this post, paid in the first 18 months of employment.

Main duties of the job

To provide specialist psychological assessments of children and young people referred to the team based upon the appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuro-psychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care.

To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client's psychological problems including developmental background, interpersonal patterns of relating, service and diagnostic issues. These plans will be based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client's problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range of care settings.

To be responsible for implementing a range of psychological interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups, within and across teams, adjusting and refining psychological formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.
