Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Children's Learning Disability Team within NHFT for an OT to join the team.

Community based team, countywide, comprising of nurses, psychologist and OT's working closely with the adult CTPLD and IST (Intensive support team).

Main duties of the job

Essential:-

  • Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification
  • Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration
  • Royal College of OT (RCOT/BAOT) membership
  • Application of the OT process in a clinical setting.
  • Experience of working as an effective and responsible member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Use of Occupational Therapy model(s) to guide practice.
  • Knowledge of current issues and best practice in OT.
  • Health and safety awareness, including Clinical risk assessment and risk management.
  • Recognition of the role of other disciplines and professions within the multi-disciplinary team and the ability to articulate the role of the OT.
  • Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice.
  • Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance.
  • Understanding of appropriate professional conduct, including ability to maintain professional boundaries
  • Experience of engaging and communicating effectively with people at all levels.
