Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic 8a family therapist to join our developing CAMHS Intensive Outreach Team (IOT). To provide qualified systemic family therapy input within the CAMHS Intensive outreach team, including assessment, care planning and therapeutic intervention.

NHFT is excited to be piloting a CAMHS Intensive Outreach Service within Northamptonshire. Come and join us in developing this new team and enhancing the CQC Outstanding Services we offer. The CAMHS Intensive Outreach team, commissioned by the East Midlands Provider Collaborate, offers intensive home-based support and intervention for young people across Northamptonshire.

The team aims to prevent unnecessary or potentially unhelpful admissions to Inpatient CAMHS and will offer: MDT assessment and formulation; risk assessment, management, and stabilisation; intensive support in the home (including meal support for young people restricting their dietary intake) and close working with other parts of CAMHS and NCT to plan the longer-term care of young people and families. As well aiming to support admission avoidance, the team will offer step-down from CAMHS Inpatients, to reduce length of admission and/or to offer a more intensive approach on discharge if required.

Main duties of the job

The applicant should be passionate about working with young people and families with complex needs and working in an attachment and trauma informed way. The role will require flexible and creative ways of engaging families and working closely with clinical psychology to psychologically and therapeutically inform the wider care provided by the team. You will hold a caseload and provide formulation-driven and evidence-based interventions, offered face-to-face and online and with individuals, families and groups depending on your expertise. You will contribute to MDT case discussions, provide input into care plans and offer supervision to colleagues both within your profession and across the MDT.

You will be joining an established group of Clinical Psychologists and Family Therapists working across Inpatient CAMHS and IOT as well as other professional colleagues including a Consultant Psychiatrist, Physical Health Nurses, Dieticians, Nurse Therapists and Occupational Therapists.
