An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Northamptonshire Personality Disorder hub in a development role that includes enrolment in a two -year, Post Graduate Diploma in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). The post holder will develop their capabilities within role and specialise in delivering DBT.

This is a 2-year fixed term training role within the Northants Personality Disorder Hub; leading to a permanent Band 7 Senior Practitioner post at the end of this period if the postgraduate diploma programme is completed successfully. This post is part of an initiative to work towards a psychological workforce that reflects, and is able to work with, the diversity of local communities and we very much welcome applications from people from diverse backgrounds who are under-represented in service delivery. • Contribute to the service's community DBT programme
  • Develop formulation-driven care plans with service users and colleagues via consultation and direct assessment
  • Support others to increase their understanding and effective practise
  • Provide DBT-informed staff training and work collaboratively with experts by experience to co-develop and deliver training.

Contribute to a range of service development projects

The post holder will need to have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working with people with complex needs and be passionate about reducing exclusion and stigma for this client group
  • A core mental health profession and demonstrate an ongoing interest in developing competencies in working with people with 'personality disorder'
  • Self-awareness and an ability to reflect on their own emotions and be open to feedback
  • Good communication and team working skills in order to collaborate with a variety of groups and stakeholders

You will need to be able to attend all training required (including intensive teaching blocks that may require travel and overnight stays to attend). You will need to complete all academic components of the course and integrate training into practice. Travelling to/from different sites across the county is required.
