Job summary

Are you proactive with outstanding knowledge and experience in managing LDA (Learning disability and Autism)? Then this role is for you. NHFT have a strong track record for continuous innovation in our Learning Disability and Autism services. We are looking to recruit a Head of service to cover our Learning disability and Autism pathways. The post holder will work across ICS (Integrated care system ) partners in ensuring that people with learning disability and/or autism are supported to live in the community with the right support and close to home. You will be responsible for the continuation and development of co-production new teams/services whilst being an integral partner with social care, ICB, acute hospitals and the voluntary sector.

Main duties of the job

To work with relevant professionals within health and social care at a senior level in defining the Crisis Response and Hospital Avoidance Strategy, quality assurance mechanisms and LDA NHSE implementation plan for Northamptonshire.

To provide leadership and direct interface with independent and third sector providers within Northamptonshire in order to embed the agreed standards and support methods of quality and impact evaluation.

To deliver evidence based practice and facilitate the implementation and support of change in the provider market - encouraging innovation and high quality care and support.

To develop positive working relationships with colleagues within internal and external services contributing to the learning disability and Autism transformation agenda.

Participate in service user engagement initiatives including individual stories and 'I want great care', paying particular attention to the 'I statements sitting within the local Transforming Care Plan.

About us

You will be responsible for the continuation of our award willing co-produced services and will have a proven track record of developing innovative services and managing complex contracts. You will also have excellent clinical experience to ensure effective governance and will be able to evidence a history of strong leadership and change management.

Job responsibilities

To lead on additional but related service development projects within health and social care and engage in audit, evaluation and research.

To proactively participate in and provide mentorship, coaching and modelling to the LDA workforce in Northamptonshire.

To participate in the delivery, monitoring and improvement of crisis care, ensuring that the highest quality standards and statutory responsibilities are met and that these are evidenced by the positive impact on individuals within Northamptonshire.

Maintenance of own Professional Registration, adhering to the relevant bodys code, ensuring the upkeep of a contemporary professional portfolio.

To be responsible and accountable for operational performance indicators including contractual, financial, quality and safety and people, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met.

To provide effective and inspirational leadership to the Directorate in order to achieve effective integration and successful operational responsibility of the delivery of services.

To oversee that safe staffing establishments across the service and minimise need for temp staff.

To take overall management responsibility for all aspects of service delivery and operational matters for the service.

To put in place and monitor arrangements for partnership working among the sectors.

To lead the development of integrated pathways for patients accessing the service and other community interventions as part of the greenlight tool.

To work towards an agreed service model, developing clinical structures, recruiting staff and operationalising the service.

To assist with the modernisation and redesign of the Directorate leading on agreed projects across the county.

To develop robust interagency relationships with key agencies supporting the development of integrated care pathways.

To ensure Service Users and Carers are included in all the work the service.
