Job summary
Do you live locally and want to be a dietitian but don't have a degree? If so, the dietetic apprentice route could be for you! If you have a level 3 qualification, good communication and organisational skills the apprentice route is perfect for you. The apprentice is delivered over 3 years and the university component is provided by Sheffield Hallam University but is done remotely on one day/week. You would need to be comfortable with learning virtually. You would have 4 days learning on the job which would be supported by the dietetic team in the trust. This would involve working with inpatients at Northampton General Hospital, Kettering General Hospital and in community hospitals, outpatients and community work including home enteral feeding. You would be working with both adults and children. You would be paid at band 3 and then band 4 in your final year. A car driver is preferred but not essential, but you need to be prepared to move between our bases at Northampton General Hospital and Kettering General Hospital.
We are looking for a motivated individual who has experience of working with the public, is a team player, is organised and has good communication skills. If you were successful, the apprentice would start in March 2023. The apprentice can only be delivered full time (part time hours not considered).
