Job summary
NHFT is a CQC 'Outstanding' rated trust. The CYP Community Eating Disorder Service (CEDS) is a county wide specialist service offering assessment, formulation and treatment to children, young people and families/carers who have an eating disorder, disordered eating or ARFID presentation. The service is a multi-disciplinary team made up of Consultant Psychologist, Clinical Psychologists, Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist, Speciality Doctor, Family Therapist, Psychological Therapists, Nurse Therapists, Physical Health Nurses and Dieticians.
In addition to providing direct clinical work within the service we would anticipate that you would be a core member of the leadership team and specifically have shared responsibility for the governance within the service and the strategic direction of the service alongside the Consultant Psychiatrist and Service Manager.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure the systematic provision of a high quality specialist clinical psychology intervention for Children, Young People and their families. And as a Consultant it would be expected that you would provide direct clinical work, clinical support, expert consultation and supervision across the eating disorder service and also the network. We would expect you to have your own clinical case load and to 'lead by example'.
As a Consultant Psychologist we would expect you to work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for governance of psychological practice within Children and Young People's CEDS. The post holder would be expected to provide clinical supervision and consultant to a range of professionals. As a senior leader you would be expected to propose and implement policy and service development changes within CYP CEDS.
We would expect you to contribute to the Leicester University doctoral training programme including the provision of clinical placements, teaching, research supervision and membership of the doctoral course management boards as required. As a Consultant Psychologist we would expect you to undertake or supervise audit and small scale research projects.
