Specialist Practitioner - Adult ADHD, Autism and Tourette's Team
Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is inviting experienced clinicians in the field of neurodevelopmental conditions to apply to these newly created posts in the Adult ADHD, Autism and Tourette's Team (AAATT). The successful applicants will be part of a highly skilled and very experienced multi-disciplinary team which has a strong national profile through its innovative work and contribution to national strategies in this specialist field.
The service operates on a county-wide basis and provides comprehensive diagnostic assessments and needs-based interventions for adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism and Tourette's Syndrome. The team also supports young people with these conditions who are in transition to adult services.
Main duties of the job
The main role of the post holders will be to provide specialist diagnostic assessments for the neurodevelopmental conditions of ADHD, Autism and Tourette's, using their clinical skills to formulate and diagnose as appropriate under the supervision of Psychologists in the team. There will be opportunities for some therapeutic work, both individual and group work, and consultancy and training to other services on neurodevelopmental conditions.
Multi-disciplinary working and service-user involvement are key aspects in the ongoing development of the team and we strongly encourage links with other services and teams both within and outside of the Trust.
The post holders will be based at St. Mary's Hospital in Kettering but may be required to travel to various destinations across Northamptonshire. There are very strong links with clinicians working across different specialities and excellent opportunities for professional development through regular monthly meetings and peer supervision networks. Professional development is very much valued, and the post holder will have access to regular supervision from a Principal Psychologist.
Please note that as this post has diagnostic assessments as its main focus, only clinicians with substantial clinical experience of working with neurodevelopmental conditions and some leadership experience will be considered in the first instance.
