Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to participate in the development of clinical service for adults experiencing complex PTSD.

This is a newly commissioned service (comprising 14 new multiprofessional posts) in Northamptonshire. The complex PTSD service will both deliver specialist clinical interventions, and also promote trauma-informed approaches in the wider service and across mental health pathways.

We are looking for an experienced psychological therapist with a background in CBT or creative therapies (art, drama, music) to join our team.We are looking for suitably qualified clinicians with some specialist clinical experience in the field of complex trauma, and experience in working with complex clinical presentations in Adult Mental Health.

You would need to contribute to the vision for this new service, work closely with partners in primary and secondary care. This will require you to exercise collaborative leadership skills within the Team and to promote the service externally. We are looking for an innovative and resilient clinician with evidenced training who can operate with confidence and credibility to play a key role in this new service.

Main duties of the job

To demonstrate specialist experience and skills relevant to the ComplexTrauma Service and to conduct individual and group therapy interventions.

To provide clinical supervision of peer support workers and thepsychological work of other MDT staff working in the service sector.

To provide advice, consultation and training to staff working with ComplexTrauma across a range of agencies and settings.

To supervise core clinical placements for trainee psychological therapists,ensuring that trainees acquire the necessary skills, competencies andexperience and to be responsible for the assessment and evaluation of suchcompetencies.Commitment to further development of psychological therapy skillsthrough accredited professional development opportunities.To receive regular clinical and professional supervision from Principal orConsultant clinical psychologist.To contribute and commit to undertaking an annual DevelopmentReview/appraisal.Collect the data required across area of work to meet audit and performance.management targets and ensure that all administration is carried out in atimely manner.
