Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Screening Technician who will be trained to provide a high-quality screening service to detect abdominal aortic aneurysms in men aged 65+ years in Dorset and Wiltshire in line with the standards and guidelines set out by the National Screening Committee and local policies.
Screening technicians will undergo a training programme and assessment leading to a competency in screening for abdominal aortic aneurysms.
Through training, screening technicians will develop a high level of concentration and fine manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination skills necessary to produce accurate imaging and measurements within a defined period, working to national and local protocols.
Special Conditions: Successful completion of training and the award of the Health Screeners Diploma & NAASP accreditation will be required. We would expect you to be semi-independent scanning within 9 months of joining the service and fully qualified within 24 months.
Main duties of the job
Technicians will be required to travel to designated sites through Dorset and Wiltshire, but predominantly Dorset, and must have access to their own vehicle and have a full driving licence.
The Screening Technician will be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of all aspects of screening clinics in a range of community settings.
