Job summary
The Ophthalmology Service Manager role will be part of the triumvirate leadership team alongside the clinical and nursing leads for the service.
The Ophthalmology service manager will:
- Provide operational support to the Divisional Management team within the ophthalmology service. Provide support for the divisional management team with the delivery of responsive and cost-effective services. This will be achieved by working closely with the divisional management team, Lead Clinician (s) and Lead nurse.
- Support the divisional management team and clinical teams to deliver operational performance against national targets such as RTT (referral to treatment) waiting times.
- Provide accurate and timely data, producing performance reports for the service with recommendations for improvement / achievement of targets.
- To identify and deliver areas for service improvement within the Ophthalmology Unit and lead on projects to improve patient throughput and patient experience.
