Job summary
To provide support to the Head of Clinical Effectiveness (HoCE) with management of the Trust's clinical audit and effectiveness programme.
The primary focus of the job will be to manage and support the Trust's clinical audit team and its delivery of key goals and objectives related to the Trust's clinical audit and clinical effectiveness programme. This post will report directly to the Head of Clinical Effectiveness (HoCE).
Main duties of the job
- Manage the Clinical Audit Management and Tracking (AMaT) system (or equivalent software); developing specialist knowledge for its use and becoming the subject expert that can provide support and training for its use.
- Provide support for the management of mortality and morbidity data and the Trust's learning from deaths programme.
- Help support and assist with wider adoption of the AMaT system in the future as/when other quality management modules are added.
- Supervise, mentor, train and line manage the clinical audit team to support individual and the teams' development, including staff appraisals and CPD.
- Work with the clinical audit team to increase engagement with the divisions.
- Help prepare and present clinical audit/NICE and clinical effectiveness progress and assurance reports.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to lead and implement the clinical audit forward plan and strategy through project design, analysis, report preparation, dissemination of series of audits, action planning of all aspects of the audit cycle.
- Plan, implement, and facilitate allocated audit and clinical effectiveness projects.
- Support data collection and undertaking specific audits/projects as requested by the HoCE. For instance, CQUINs, 7-Day Service Assessments, and preparing/collating data for the Trust's Annual Quality Accounts
