Job summary

To provide administration services for LEEP (Lung Exercise and Education Programme), a rehab course for patients with lung conditions, which is run three times a year. To help manage the Non-invasive Ventilation service and provide general administration support for the physio team, including regular interaction with physio patients, both over the phone and F2F.

The post holder will be responsible for every stage of organising rehab clinics, from booking patients to setting up the clinic room in advance. The workload is managed with day to day supervision by the NCM. The successful applicant will work closely with the existing B3 LEEP administrator to coo-ordinate the successful management of our rehabilitation programme.

Main duties of the job

Meet and greet patients and their relations, dealing with patient enquires on the telephone and in person providing non-clinical information. Contribute and participate in staff meetings, working groups and multi-disciplinary clinical meetings to maintain lateral communication and update the team on equipment supply. Record clinic attendances, update patient details on the Lorenzo patient record system and Excel, and making outpatient appointments for clinic/procedure. Providing administration support to the physio team booking patient appointments and using Digital dictation system to produce correspondence. Maintain good working relationships with the multidisciplinary teams within the Respiratory Unit and to liaise with all other units and external stakeholders in a professional manner. Take part in the Department's staff appraisal and review interviews as required. The appraisal interview will take place not less than once a year. Attend and contribute to Clinical Governance and interdepartmental meetings when required and as requested. Communicate informally and formally with staff at varying levels within the Trust to ensure day to day duties are performed to, and meet, the required quality standards and equipment warranty tolerances. Communicate with patients and their carers in a sensitive and professional manner. Provide an efficient and flexible working practice that will adapt to and meet the needs of ongoing changes within the Respiratory Nurse and Admin teams.
