Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and inspirational midwifery leader to join the senior maternity leadership team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust as the Quality and Safety matron.
We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced midwife with a clear understanding of the quality and safety agenda for maternity and neonatal services. We are keen to hear from midwives with a passion and drive to lead whilst upholding our Trust values and behavior's and putting women and families at the center of service delivery.
You will be a compassionate leader with a passion for improving safety within maternity whilst ensuring that the quality of care women and their babies receive is exceptional. You will lead by example and be responsible for a team of midwives , inspiring them to drive forward improvements alongside the national ambition of the three year delivery plan.
Main duties of the job
- To lead and co-ordinate the maternity safety and quality team on all aspects of safety & quality improvement and assurance.
- Exhibit leadership behaviours that demonstrate respect, resilience, trust, enthusiasm and energy positively impacting on the culture of the workforce leading to a happy and safe workplace that is always improving.
- In a flexible leadership role provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership across the maternity service.
- To lead on assurance and ensure standards are met for all external regulatory organisations relating to the safety, quality and key performance indicators specifically for maternity.
- To ensure that evidence meets the requirements for NHS Resolution, CQC, HSIB, NHSI and other national standards.
- To lead on guidance for the maternity service in relation to external inspections from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and be responsible for the maintenance of consistently high standards within the service.
