CAMHS Patient and Family /Carer Involvement Lead for BSW

We currently have an opportunity to join BSW CAMHS in a part time (18.75 hours a week) role working across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire to lead the mental health Directorate's patient/carer experience and involvement work and drive co-production within service developments and transformation work in line with the Trust's strategy.

The successful applicant will have a passion for developing co-production across all areas of Mental Health services, they may have their own lived experience and they will work collaboratively with patients, carers and staff members on a joint vision to understand and improve the experiences of those who use Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust services.

We have sites across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire and the successful candidate will be able to choose their base.

Main duties of the job

The purpose of this role is to lead, innovate and challenge to promote a culture of co-production within the BSW mental health services.

Some of the key elements include:

  • To be an advocate on behalf of patients/carers to maximise their opportunities to co-produce within the Directorate and as part of local and national forums.
  • To support services to increase and manage engagement opportunities, through innovation work, staff recruitment, forums, project work, business development, stakeholder engagement, communication via media and the development of resources.
  • To ensure learning from patient and carer experiences is integrated with feedback from other sources such as complaints and incidents and fed into the strategic work of the Directorate
  • To work closely with the established patient/ carer forums to drive change
  • To support and deliver feedback mechanisms, helping teams to gather insights and promote an ethos of continuous quality improvement.

This role will work flexibly across BSW to meet the needs of the patient/carers and services involved in the many projects currently in progress and those developing.

A full driving licence and access to a car is desirable for this role alongside excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a team as well as on your own initiative and a genuine passion for patients/ carers to be involved at the heart of everything we do.
