We are currently seeking a Senior Support Worker to join our CAMHS on a full time basis. With new funding from our commissioners, we're enhancing how we support families. Instead of just sending signposting letters, we'll now call every family to offer personalised advice and connect them with the right help.

Join our expanding BANES and Wiltshire CAMHS SPA Team in Melksham and make a real difference from the very first conversation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to develop their career in mental health further!

Main duties of the job

  • Answer and manage incoming calls from young people, parents/carers, schools, GPs, and partner agencies.

  • Conduct structured telephone screening using standardised tools and local SPA protocols.

  • Identify risk indicators (e.g. self-harm, safeguarding, crisis presentation) and escalate appropriately to clinical staff or duty clinicians.

  • Gather and record relevant clinical, social, and contextual information accurately.

  • Offer emotional support, guidance, and reassurance to callers in distress.

  • Signpost to appropriate community or digital resources when CAMHS input is not indicated.

  • Recognise indicators of immediate risk to self or others and follow safeguarding and crisis escalation protocols
