Assistant Clinical Psychologist

The closing date is 23 October 2025

Job summary

We are seeking a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist to join our CAMHS team based at Savernake Hospital in Marlborough, Wiltshire. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to get a broad experience of working in a CAMHS service prior to pursuing a career in clinical psychology.

The post is full time and will involve working alongside our amazing but busy multi-disciplinary team including clinical psychologists. The post will include working alongside our generic CAMHS team; however, the post holder will also have dedicated time in their job plan to work within The CAMHS Eating Disorder Service (TEDS) and our Neurodevelopmental Assessment Clinic (NDC). Supervision will be provided by a qualified clinical psychologist.

The base for this post will be with Marlborough CAMHS, however, at times there will be a need to travel to different sites across BSW, including schools and patients' homes.

The role will include supporting the team by gathering and collating relevant information relating to the assessment process by speaking with parents, schools and other relevant professionals as needed. Under supervision there will be an opportunity to be directly involved in assessments with children and young people and family members. There will also be an opportunity to undertake direct psychological interventions again under clinical supervision.

Main duties of the job

There will also be an opportunity to be involved in service audit and evaluation.

Previous work with children and young people and/or experience of working in a CAMHS or Child Health setting will be useful for this role.

We envisage that this post will generate a lot of interest therefore we may close the post early if we receive a lot of applications.
