We are looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant to join our award winning therapy team at Didcot Community Hospital. This multidisciplinary team supports patients on the Oxfordshire Pathway, providing physical rehabilitation to maximise recovery and support patients returning to the community.

If you have previous experience providing care or working with people in individual and group settings and have a passion for person centred care, this post may well be for you! We are a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward thinking team who work effectively together to deliver high standards of rehabilitation. An active program of in service and competency based training is established, with a strong team ethos of learning and development.

Main duties of the job

Working within a multidisciplinary team providing rehabilitation under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered practitioner.You will:

  • Support registered and assistant practitioners in the delivery of safe and effective rehabilitative patient care assisting in the provision of prescribed programmes of treatment to patients and other duties under guidance and supervision.
  • Liaise effectively by establishing and maintaining professional working relationships with other members of the inter-disciplinary team, patients, carers, and relatives. Accepting and relayinginformation and messages as required. This may include staff from other agencies or localities when a patient's care is being transferred.
  • Participate in the hands on delivery of patient care.
  • Help the service to provide a high quality, efficient intensive rehabilitation service for adult patients in Oxfordshire.

You can help empower clients to manage their conditions effectively and maximise their potential to reach their goals of self management, access to their environment and return to previous occupations and involvement in the community.

You will be expected to work flexibly and provide occasional cover to other community hospital sites to support the delivery of the therapy service.
