Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers contribute significantly to the standards of nursing, and patient experience and outcomes, providing valued support to our inpatient nursing and multi-disciplinary teams.
This role can be the first rung on the ladder to becoming a qualified nurse. You can progress through our apprenticeship framework without having to attend and fund a full time university course.
Clinical Support staff are the second largest staffing group behind nursing at Oxford Health Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- To actively engage service users in meaningful conversation and therapeutic activity. Specifically, gaining an understanding of the individuals interests and incorporating these into the activities that are planned.
- To participate as a member of the team in delivering care as prescribed in the individuals care plan.
- Participate in the development, monitoring and evaluation of individual care plans.
- Develop therapeutic relationships as part of the on-going assessment and care delivery process, and ensure relevant information is reported to the trained nurse on shift
