The Wiltshire Community Eating Disorder Service (WCEDS) is looking for two, fulltime, band 6 Mental Health Nurses who are passionate about making a difference to adults who are suffering with an eating disorder.
You will be part of a team of dedicated and experienced multi-disciplinary professionals working with adults with eating disorders.
With a reputation for excellence, our service provides a stepped model of care tailored to the individual's needs for stabilisation and recovery. We offer a range of programmes and evidence-based treatments to assist with this. We are a friendly, energetic and dynamic team who are proactive and visionary, focusing on excellent patient-centred care.
Within this post, you will provide specialist eating disorder assessment and treatment for adults with eating disorders, in a community setting across Wiltshire and Swindon.
We are working towards a culture where services from across the whole system work together to deliver positive and seamless experiences of care for adults with an eating disorder.
You will require a professional qualification with current UK registration.
Main duties of the job
You will be an exceptional Mental Health Nurse, who will work alongside our multi-disciplinary team of Psychologists, CBT therapists, medics, Dietitian and Occupational Therapists in a holistic, patient-centred manner to deliver the best quality care experience and ensure the needs of patients are met.
You will provide specialist nursing assessment and evidence-based, needs-led treatment and discharge plans within the clinic and community setting. This could be on an individual or group basis.
You will have outstanding communication skills, ensuring the patient, carers and the rest of the clinical team are kept abreast of plans and updates by providing verbal and written feedback and reports. This will include attending clinical and professional meetings and liaising with other agencies involved in the individual's care.
There are exciting opportunities to be part of QI projects to develop services for the needs of the local population, with support from experienced staff.
You will develop close working relationships with CAMHS colleagues and support the transition of patients from CAMHS to adult services in addition to providing various groups treatments, which are available to individuals, who are open to CAMHS in addition to the adult team.
