Job summary
Are you a motivated and experienced qualified nurse who is looking for a new challenge?
We're looking for an experienced nurse with a passion for inpatient settings and a flexible and positive attitude to join our leadership team on Wintle Ward.
Wintle ward is a 16-bedded female acute ward caring for females of working age (18-65 years-of-age) with a diagnosis of mental illness and/or personality disorder across Oxfordshire.
You should have a caring, non-judgmental, and inclusive attitude and be committed to the delivery of safe, high quality care to patients and their loved ones. Experience in an acute setting would be an advantage, but is not essential as we will provide you with all the training required.
Our team works hard to ensure high quality, patient centred-care is at the heart of everything we do. You will be part of a motivated, supportive and cohesive multi-disciplinary Mental Health Team where your contribution is highly important. The team actively promotes a multi-disciplinary approach to the care coordination of our patients.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to be dynamic and committed to patient care, by positively advocating for patients, actively contributing to and supporting the recovery process as well as maintaining the high standards of patient care whilst working within a safe, secure and supportive environment. You will be expected to lead and co-ordinate shifts as Nurse in Charge, along with safely dispensing and administering medication to patients, in line with the 6 Rs and safe medication management.
You will assist our dedicated members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team in implementing and evaluating individual collaborative care plans by working alongside the patient to support their recovery journey. Your duties will also include actively supporting individual clients in engaging with their local community and reducing social isolation.
Other responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical and managerial supervision to a team of colleagues
- Promote the further progression, training and study in others to develop professionally
- Monitoring performance within your team including sickness absence.
- Cover the Ward Manager on occasions which will support in the further development of your leadership skills.
