Job summary

Are you interested in working in a team that delivers services to young people facing mental health challenges?

If you are not already working in a CAMHS setting we can immerse you in mental health services and train and develop you within our experienced team. There has never been a better time to join Oxford Health CAMHS and this post is based in our Getting More Help (GMH) team where you will deliver a high quality, comprehensive mental health service for children, young people and their families who are experiencing mental health difficulties.

Within Children & Adolescent Mental Health Services in Buckinghamshire we are looking for motivated qualified nurses who are looking to work in a great team alongside nurses, occupational therapists and social workers, all of whom are dedicated to improving services for young people. You may be a band 5 ready for the next step in their career, or an experienced band 6 nurse who wants to gain exposure in a new area. Either way, we have a career path ready for you.

Whilst this is a full time role, we will also consider part time or other work patterns for this post so please do get in touch if you have any questions.

This role is also eligible for an incentive scheme of £3,500 paid at intervals over an 18-month period. All payments are pro-rata, non-pensionable and subject to a clawback clause. Please note that only employees external to Oxford Health NHS are eligible for this scheme.

Main duties of the job

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop individualised care plans, and regularly review and adjust these plans to meet the evolving needs of young people and their families.
  • Provide educational resources and practical support using evidence-based interventions, fostering a collaborative and recovery-focused environment.
  • Identify potential risks, develop and implement risk management plans, and encourage positive risk-taking to promote growth and resilience.
  • Offer clinical guidance, support, and supervision to team members, promoting best practices and continuous professional development.
  • Participate in activities to improve service effectiveness, contribute to service outcome evaluations, and collaborate with team members to implement improvements

The ability to travel independently between sites within the Trust is essential for this role.
