Job summary

The core purpose of this role is to provide a proactive and efficient administrative service for the Oxfordshire Tissue Viability Service, ensuring that there are effective administrative systems and procedures in operation.

You will be working alongside a small and friendly team of tissue viability nurses and another administrator.

Main duties of the job

The main aspects of the role are to provide efficient, effective and comprehensive administrative support to the county wide Tissue Viability Team, including being the first line response to referrals and requests for equipment and dealing with enquiries from a variety of people including patients, relatives, staff and other professionals.

Service hours are 8.30am-4.30pm Monday-Friday.

  • Processing equipment requests from acute trust, primary care, community hospitals and all other community services, placing orders for equipment in a timely manner managing the procurement of bespoke specials equipment.
  • To deal with face-to-face enquiries and telephone calls/emails from patients, relatives, staff and other professionals, promptly and sensitively, making autonomous decisions to signpost to appropriate clinician or alternative service, ensuring messages are dealt with or passed onquickly and efficiently.
  • To lead in the organisation and maintenance of an effective medical/patient records system including the patient referral and discharge process and other data entry into the electronic health records, ensuring that high standards of data quality are maintained.
  • To manage the electronic management of the teams caseloads, waiting lists and appointments, to include allocating to and discharging from HCP caseload.
