The Oxford City and North East AMHT are looking to recruit an experienced RMN to take a lead on running the Depot Clinic which is based at the Warneford Hospital in Headington. The City and Northeast OAMHT's main base is a stones throw from the centre of Oxford and the dreamy spires. We provide care for the residents of Oxford, the local towns of Kidlington, Bicester and Woodstock, and the surrounding villages.
You would be in charge of the day to day running of the current on site depot clinic along with conducting home visits for other patients requiring depots. You will be expected to lead on implementing improvements in to how the depot clinic is delivered.
The City AMHT is a wonderful team to work in and this role offers an opportunity to develop senior clinical and leadership skills. The Management team are committed to the wellbeing and development of the staff working in the team.
You will be supported by an experienced leadership team from across the professions who facilitate forums for Nursing and Occupational Therapists and hold your development as central. We offer regular supervision and you will be encouraged and supported to undertake any training relevant to your professional development.
Main duties of the job
This role is open to Registered Mental Health Nurses who have experience of working in Adult Mental Health services and understand the challenges that this care group can bring.
Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver and maintain high quality and meaningful care for our patients. You will need to be a highly motivated practitioner who has experience of mental health services and can demonstrate the ability to initiate and manage your work effectively.
- Act as an independent practitioner within a defined community setting, while liaising with other professionals as necessary. You will manage the depot clinic whilst working closely with our lead pharmacy technician and have a caseload of clients prescribed IM medication and provide supervision to others as appropriate.
- Responsible for the evaluation of nursing care within agreed parameters, and have a working knowledge of local and national policies including legislation which governs current service provision and audit.
- To support and participate in a team based learning culture, engaging in practice development initiatives, supervision, and reflective practice forums.
- To support and supervise junior members of the team and to act as a mentor/preceptor to student nurses/trainees
