Job summary
We are seeking to employ a number of part-time individuals (patients, families, members of the public) who have lived experience of receiving services provided by Oxford Health NHS Foundation (physical healthcare, mental health services or learning disability services)and want to use this to improve the safety of healthcare. We need motivated people to work alongside staff, patients and families to help co-design and implement patient safety initiatives.
The working hours can be flexible and you will work in an office, visit clinical areas and if you wish you can also work some of the time from home.
This is an excellent opportunity to share your experiences and skills to develop the patient safety partner role and be part of making a difference to our service users.
Main duties of the job
Some examples of the work you will do include:
- Talking with patients and staff about safety and what matters to them, to gather a diverse range of experiences and ideas for change.
- Helping us to make sure we consider and prioritise the patient, carer and family perspectives and collaborate to make care as safe as possible
- Being part of projects to identify and implement changes to improve patient safety
- Joining regular safety meetings to review care and oversee changes
- Developing and promoting information resources related to patient safety
- Supporting the patient safety team when reviewing and acting on learning from incidents
- Gathering feedback from patients and families about our safety processes
We will provide structured support and relevant training to help you succeed in this role.
