Job summary

We are excited to invite applications for a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist to join our dynamic CAMHS team at Marlborough House, Swindon. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking broad experience in a CAMHS service as a stepping stone toward a career in clinical psychology.

Position: Full-timeLocation: Marlborough House, Swindon (with occasional travel across BSW, including schools and patients' homes)

In this role, you will be working alongside our supportive and busy multi-disciplinary team, including clinical psychologists. You will gain valuable experience across multiple areas, including our generic CAMHS team within the Getting More Help service. Additionally, you will spend dedicated time within The Eating Disorder Service (TEDs) and the Neurodevelopmental Clinic (NDC).

You will receive supervision from a qualified clinical psychologist to support your professional development.

Main duties of the job

The role will include supporting the team by gathering and collating relevant information relating to the assessment process by speaking with parents, schools and other relevant professionals as needed. Under supervision there will be an opportunity to be directly involved in assessments with children and young people and family members. There will also be an opportunity to undertake direct psychological interventions again under clinical supervision.

There are strong professional links in BSW CAMHS and psychology meet regularly to consider training, continuing development, specialist interest and service developments. This also brings with it the opportunity to network and learn from other psychologists in different teams and specialisms

There will also be an opportunity to be involved in service audit, evaluation and collection of outcome monitoring data. The role is busy but the team is supportive and compassionate.

Previous work with children and young people and/or experience of working in a CAMHS or Child Health setting will be useful for this role.
